Neurology Case Study
1. BUSINESS OBJECTIVES
Our client wanted to bridge the time gap between diagnosis of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and treatment initiation. Their second goal was to identify what could be done (either internally or with pharma support) to make the process of diagnosis and treatment more straightforward for the families impacted by SMA.
2. BAZIS AMERICAS SOLUTION
Our research team conducted in-depth telephone interviews with neurologists to learn more about SMA treatment and genetic testing to create a robust visual patient map. We carefully documented provider reports of the symptoms that typically trigger further tests and lead to a diagnosis of SMA.
3. CLIENT IMPACT
Our research helped our client to collect the necessary information about the sequence of events and roles and responsibilities with regards to the diagnosis, testing, and treatment of SMA patients, as well as how various medical facilities operate in different countries. Our patient journey map for SMA patients helped the client to identify diagnostic gaps in different economic regions.
